Frasier TV Show

Kelsey Grammer is a very well known name in TV world for his roles in NBC sitcoms ‘Cheers’ and ‘Frasier’ as psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane. He portrayed the same role in three different series- ‘Cheers’, as a main character; ‘Frasier’, as a leading role; and in ‘Wings’ as a guest star. He’s the first American actor ever who is nominated for several Emmy Awards for the same role in three different shows. Besides acting, he’s a producer, director, writer and a voice actor as well.

Kelsey Grammer’s father Frank Allen Grammer was a musician as well as a coffee-shop owner and his mother, Sally was a singer. He’s a successor of Massachusetts Governor Thomas Dudley’s ancestry. When he was a teenager, his parents broke up and he moved in with her mom and was raised by his maternal grandparents. His childhood days were very tragic. When he was just his 13, his father was murdered in the front of their house. After 7 years, in 1975, his sister was raped and killed. It was not an end to the tragedy as in 1980 his younger half-brothers were killed by a shark.

In 1981, he made his Broadway debut as Lennox in ‘Macbeth’ when Philip Anglim quitted the play. In 1983, he appeared in the demo of ‘Sunday in the park with George’. His TV career began when he got a role in NBC mini series ‘Kennedy‘. The role which set him on the peak of popularity, was of Dr. Frasier Crane in a popular TV series ‘Cheers’. Next, he appeared in ‘Frasier’, spin-off of ‘Cheers’ and it repeated the success of its predecessor.

His role as Dr. Frasier Crane brought him many Emmy and Golden Awards. He portrayed the same character for 20 consecutive years and earned US $ 1.6 million per episode.

In 2005, he created an American adaptation of a British sketch show named ‘The Sketch Show’. Show didn’t get popular and was cancelled just after four episodes. He also gave his voice to innumerous animated characters on different popular TV shows. His movie credits include ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’, ‘Swing Vote’ etc. Kelsey has been nominated for 45 major awards and has won 18 out of those.

He has married thrice. In 1980, he married Doreen Alderman, a dance instructor and has a daughter, named Spencer, with her. They broke up in 1990 and in 1992, he married Leigh Anne Csuhany. This relation lasted just one year. He also has a daughter with hair and make up stylist Barrie Buckner. Currently, he is married to Camille Donatacci, a former playboy model. Couple has two children- Mason Olivia, daughter and a son named Jude Gordon.

Role on Frasier

In very popular series ‘Frasier’, he plays Dr. Frasier Crane who is fed up with unwanted persons in his life such as his father and his assistants. Dr. Frasier hosts a local radio program. His all plans to lead a peaceful life are shattered when his ex-cop father moves in with him.
